Sara Clay, PA-C
Physician assistant Sara Clay was born and raised in Union County. "I love this area, which is why I went to school at Wingate and stayed her after graduation," Sara shared. "I love being part of this community, and it's awesome to be able to work with the kids and teens here."
Sara says she has been working with kids in this community since she was a teenager. "I always enjoyed working with the kids at my church," she explained. "I learned I loved building relationships with them and watching them grow. Then, in college, I discovered that many of the microbiology classes I loved were related to medicine, which led me to become a physician assistant.
"In my clinical rotations, there wasn't one that I didn't like," Sara continued. "I really enjoy all aspects of medicine. Helping people is what makes me happy, and I really enjoy helping our patients here at Novant Health Child & Adolescent Medical Group."
Sara is engaged to be married in May 2016. She has two dogs, Petey and Knot. "I have had Petey since he was a puppy and Knot was a stray that came up to our house after a storm," she recalled. "He’s been with us ever since. Petey loves to chase squirrels and Knot loves to play with his soccer ball."
When she's not spending time with her fiancé or playing with her pets, Sara enjoys reading. "Between college and PA school, I worked with the Union County Public Libraries," she said. "My favorite books include Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
