Mary L. Lindsay-Barber, MD, FAAP
Mary Lindsay-Barber, MD, values communication. However, she enjoys the challenge when communication is more difficult. "I enjoy figuring out what the medical problem is in both infants who can't talk and teenagers who won't talk," Dr. Linsday-Barber explained. "All age groups, from infants to young adults, have their joys and their challenges, and I love the variety."
For more than 25 years, Dr. Lindsay-Barber has been serving children of all ages. "That's a big reason why I fell in love with pediatrics," she shared. "I went to medical school with the intention of focusing on family practice, but I quickly realized how much I loved watching children grow and impacting our future by helping them."
At Novant Health Child & Adolescent Medicine, Dr. Lindsay-Barber works diligently to get to know more than just her patients. "I feel privileged to become a part of my patients' families," she said. "We have such a variety of families visiting us, and eve one in our practice works as a team to deliver remarkable care to each one."
That diligence is recognized both by her patients and by other physicians. Dr. Lindsay-Barber has been recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal as a physician of the year. This is a result of positive feedback from professionals across the medical field.
Dr. Lindsay-Barber has been married to her college sweetheart, Shedrick Barber, for longer than she's been a pediatrician. "We have a grown son and a daughter who we see whenever we get a chance," she shared. "We love traveling, or watching movies together when we're staying closer to home."
